My sister.
We all grew up together in the house in Stony Point that my mom and dad cobbled together for us. We all shared what it mean to be a Normoyle. Going to Ireland in the summers. Eating lots of potatoes. We all had to learn music of some kind. And yes, that included accordions.
Noreen smiled and laughed through it all. The fun things, the crazy things, the things that only happened if Thanksgiving involved a trip to Brooklyn to visit family. The people that surrounded you with names like Boyle and Doyle and Coyle and Guilfoyle and Meehan and Friel. Everyone had an Irish accent, it seemed. Every get-together eventually had an Irish song.
There's no way to sum up.
Instead, I share this last thing that Noreen left with me. We were reminiscing about some silly thing when we were kids, that I had done with her. A small moment. But it was a treasured thought for her. I remembered it too, just as strongly as she. And it made me realize how important the small moments are and how they charge our lives. They make us who we are. Small moments between two people. That we somehow then remember for a lifetime.
I love that I have memories that she shared exactly. I love that when I looked in her eyes, there was still the enjoyment of those moments, alive in her.
As long as I squeeze those memories hard, she is still with me. Thank you Noreen.
And thank you everyone, Jeff especially, for taking such good care of her.
Love,
Kevin and Gillian

Noreen, you were a treasure and it is difficult to find words which express our grief and how much we will miss you. You were the linchpin to which we were all tethered and some day we will all be together again. You will forever be in our hearts, and the memories and the joy you got from practicing Irish step-dancing and playing the piano to Brendan’s great delight will always be with us.
As the Irish say “ May God always hold you in the palm of His hand”
We will be remembering you especially tomorrow, (April 4th, 1:00PM) with blessed candles and many prayers during your Celebration of Life service.
We love you dearly

Jeff, It is with sadness, and a heavy heart that I write to express my sincerest sympathy to you, Noreen's children Conor, Cara & Rosaleen, her step-sons John & Daniel, Noreen's parents Jim & Nan Normoyle; Normoyle/Travers/Skinner families on your profound loss. Noreen is a huge loss to her family, she loved and cared for all unconditionally.
Sorry the doctors could not make her better and send her home to you. She fought hard to stay on earth, but God had other plans. She is at peace now, and free from her illness, hope you can find comfort in knowing that.
Jeff, you took great care of your princess, Noreen, and did everything humanly possible to keep her comfortable at home. You should have no regrets. She loved your dearly!
Noreen was very brave, she told me she had a blessed life and raised like a princess. She also said "one of the hardest part of this is seeing what it is doing to mom & dad. I love them dearly". Nan, she felt she got her strength from you!
Noreen was my beautiful and precious God Child. I was so proud of her and her many accomplishments. I loved her more than life itself, she will always have a piece of my heart, as long as I'm alive.
May your loving memories of Noreen bring you peace, joy and comfort.
Will remember Noreen tomorrow (April 4th) at 1 p.m. with prayers during Celebration of Life Service.
With love and prayers,
Noreen's "Cousin May"
